PLANET Awarded 2013 Corporate Citizenship Awards Again |
PLANET Technology Corporation, the global leading IP-based networking company, was once again awarded 2013 Corporate Citizenship Awards, Taiwans most authoritative corporate social responsibility (CSR) barometer by CommonWealth Magazine. Having achieved this honor annually since 2007, it recognized PLANET as a leader in sustaining competitiveness, not only valuing "profit," but also "people" and the "planet."
Upholding the integrity as the fundamental to enterprise, PLANET focuses on the innovation of networking and communication products and global branding as well as long-term implementation of social responsibility. PLANET provides employees with thorough human resource trainings and also cares about their physical and mental health by holding spiritual and stress relief lectures, and activities for employees every year.
Caring the local environment and society, PLANET funded organic tea farmers in Pinglin, New Taipei City, which is in the upstream area of the Feitsui Reservoir that provides water to residents in Northern Taiwan. PLANET thus helped to bring clean water quality and to maintain the ecosystems of the reservoir. Besides, since 2004, PLANET has been devoted to psychological counseling and after-school tutoring for the disadvantaged children, aiming to assist children who are slower-learners or those with emotional or behavioral problems in developing positive learning attitude and in shaping a healthy mindset and integrity. Till this year, there have been a total of 15 elementary schools participated in this program.
CEO Mr. Jack Chen said, "Through these years of practicing CSR, we realized that by only implementing corporate social responsibility, an enterprise can truly achieve the value of sustainable development." Since its founding 20 years ago, PLANET has operated soundly and put social responsibility into daily practice for a long time. CSR has become one of PLANETs corporate DNAs, making it happen continuously in more creative ways.
The Corporate Citizenship Awards is organized by CommonWealth Magazine, one of the most prestigious business media in Taiwan. It is benchmarked to international standards including the UN Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes. The CSR award winners were chosen among the 4 main criteria: Corporate Governance, Company Commitment, Social Involvement, and Environmental Protection. To be eligible for this award, each company must continue to make profit for at least 3 consecutive years. This award is not only an evidence of PLANET outstanding dedication to CSR but it also makes PLANET a role model in serving the society.
